AnnMarie Perrotta
My name is Annmarie Perrotta, and while I use a wheelchair, that is only one part of who I am — it does not define me. I am proud to be a teammate with Special Olympics Delaware, where I compete in basketball, bowling, soccer, and my favorite sport, swimming.
Being part of the Special Olympics community means so much to me because it gives me the opportunity to advocate for individuals with challenges similar to my own. Through my experiences, I am able to bring awareness, share perspective, and help others better understand the importance of inclusion, accessibility, and opportunity. I believe strongly in using my voice to represent those who may not always feel heard.
My professional journey began with volunteering at Beebe Healthcare while I was in high school. A few years later, I was honored to be hired and have since worked in the Environmental Services Department for over three years. I take great pride in my work and in being part of a team that supports the health and well-being of our community.
Outside of athletics and work, I enjoy riding horses, cheering on my favorite NFL teams, and spending time at Camp Fairlee — where zip lining is my favorite activity.
I am excited to collaborate with my fellow board members to help build Madame’s Circle into a world-class organization. I look forward to contributing to its growth and making a meaningful impact by expanding opportunities and strengthening our communities.
